A Java based game
As part of the programming course [Danish] included in my study of electronic engineering, we were asked to do a java version of one of three games. My partner and I decided to do Fanorona, a board game from Madagascar. You can find excellent versions of this game online.
Part of the assignment was a written report, also available below. It is written in Danish.
The source code freely is available for the interested, but it is copyrighted work and may not be used without written permission.
Running Fanorona should be easy on most platforms, but you'll need a java installation, freely available at java.com. If you have an Apple Macintosh with Mac OS X, it will already be installed. As for other platforms, I have no idea :)
Having installed that, you should be able to simply double-click the fanorona.jar file. If that doesn't work, go to your terminal [or command prompt in windows], navigate to the folder where you keep the game, and type this:
java -jar fanorona.jar
The game should launch. There is help on playing the game from within the program.
