The ASCII-based Captcha has been in place for some time now and although I initially thought it would end in a happy place, recent link spamming has been massive and very discouraging. It seems the ascii captcha wasn't enough.
To further discourage their efforts all links will be filtered, i.e. they won't be clickable. Also, I will up the frequency with which I trim the database from the junk. I have just now deleted more than 2000 spam posts.
I apologize if I have inadvertently deleted any real posts. They are still much appreciated :)
UPDATE MAY 10th: Sigh. More deleted posts. Commenting are now disabled for old posts.
