Ah, my favorite browser just got better

28th April, 2004

I'm talking about links of course, a cousin to lynx but with support for frames. As I wanted to install it on my new iBook for those i-need-no-stinkin'-images browser sessions, I discovered that there is an experimental Links 2 with javascript and graphics support through X11. How cool is that:

Wee, look at the images!

My connection to the net is pretty saturated at the moment, but rendering speed seems good and loading time is practically nil. Unfortunately it doeesn't understand CSS but hey, neither does Internet Explorer!

After download and untar/gz'ing, a ./configure --enable-javascript --enable-graphics did the magic. X11 support in osx is such a good thingâ„¢ :)
